UCSC and CSUMB Tell Students To Go Home 03-19-20 03:37 DC

California State University Monterey Bay and the University of California Santa Cruz are both suggesting that students should move back home as they complete the school year.

With shelter-in-place orders in both Santa Cruz and Monterey counties, the two schools are offering refunds and recommending students move back home to be with their families.

“In order to dramatically reduce the density on campus, we strongly urge students who can safely leave to do so by Sunday, March 29,” UCSC told students on Wednesday.

The school hopes that sending students home will allow those who cannot leave to achieve the recommended space for social distancing.
