The California Coastal Commission has approved overnight curfews at Santa Cruz beaches. The curfews were originally implemented by the city in response to a homeless encampment beginning to form on the popular main beach following the closure of the Ross Camp. The Coastal Commissions decision passed in a 7 to 4 vote, upholding the City of Santa Cruz’s beach management plan for a 5 year period.
