The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is now enforcing recent changes to the noise ordinance. On July 23rd the oridnance was adopted regarding regulating noise in the unincorporated areas of Monterey County. The night noise ordinance was changed from 10 pm to 9 pm. The noise detection standard is now “plainly audible” from 50 feet after 9 pm. The Sheriff’s Office says deputies will now be actively enforcing the ordinance.
