Monterey county planners have approved a plan to install a battery storage facility in the Moss Landing area. It is expected to be one of the largest, if not the largest energy storage facility in the world….with 270 lithium-ion Tesla-produced Mega Pack Units…that have a capacity of up to 730 mega-watt hours. The Elkhorn Battery Storage Facility would be constructed on about 4.5 acres at the P.G. & E. substation in Moss Landing.
