Auditors say $36 million dollars of lottery money that was supposed to go to education funding in fiscal 2017-2018 was never paid.
Voters were told that the California State Lottery was supposed to use the money raised from lottery funds to support California schools. The State Auditors report there was a lack of oversight by the State Controller’s Office.
