Pg &E Taxes 2/21/20 8a Ci

In business news… new legislation being introduced by state senator Jerry Hill seeks to prevent PG&E from taking tax breaks.

The troubled utility is eligible for a tax deduction of  about one point six billion dollars for wildfire expenditures. Hill authored senate bill 1139, which prevents power companies from harvesting tax savings.

PG&E is being held liable for a string of equipment failures that caused a series of fires and explosions dating back almost a decade.
