Highway 17 commuters to Santa Cruz will be encountering traffic congestion once again for the brush removal project known as “Fire Safe 17”.
This week, a southbound lane closure will cause delays for motorists travelling southbound on Highway 17 from 9 AM to 3 PM Tuesday through Thursday.
The lane closure is planned around the Redwood Estates (Big Moody Curve) and Summit area.
Highway 17 travelers are advised to travel outside the project window or prepare for delays that have previously ranged from 15 to 45 minutes just before the Summit.
