A man who pleaded No Contest to both Felony Burglary, and taking part in the group assault of a Monterey County Jail inmate, has been sentenced to spend 3 years in prison. 42 year-old Nataniala Uta was seen on video surveillance footage breaking into a cannabis business (where he worked in July of last year), and stealing a laptop and some marijuana. While in Jail awaiting the resolution of that case he was seen on video footage being 1 of 6 people attacking another inmate.
Because he was on Felony Probation from a 2013 Assault case at the time of the burglary and attack, he will serve 3 years (for the newer cases), concurrently with the final 2 years from the conviction of the 2013 assault.
