Mo Teacher Housing-2/9/20-918-PMD

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District is considering housing options for potential teachers. The district cites housing availability and costs as a major factor in teacher turnover. Every year the district hires up to 100 teachers to replace those who leave due to housing issues. The district is considering a proposal to build up to 60 affordable housing units on an 11 acre parcel in Seaside. The project would be financed if voters approve a possible facilities bond on the November 2020 ballot.
