Parents of high school students are being warned of a scam supposedly involving SAT or ACT test preparation materials.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office says parents are being contacted by someone claiming to be from the SAT/ACT Prep Center. The caller tells parents that their child had ordered SAT or ACT prep materials.
The caller then asks for credit card information to charge parents if the materials are not returned.
Deputies warn parents not give information to anyone they are not expecting a call from.
