Due to the current cold temperatures on the central coast, severe crop damage could occur. The extent of the damage partially hinges on how long this cold-snap continues. Plants that are most vulnerable are the ones that have been planted most recently, because they haven’t had the chance yet to grow and bulk-up. This current cold snap is expected to continue tonight….with temperatures possibly getting down as far as the mid-20’s. This freeze watch is expected to end by 9 a-m tomorrow.
