Monterey councilmember proposes home vacancy tax 01-30-20 15:45 DC

In an attempt at finding affordable housing solutions, Monterey city council member Tyller Williamson has proposed the idea of a home vacancy tax.

Williamson’s idea is to levy a tax on homeowners who live in Monterey part-time. City consultants determined that there are roughly 800 units in Monterey that aren’t occupied full time.
