The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at an illegal drug lab on Hangar Way in Watsonville last Thursday. Investigators found more than 1,200 pounds of cannabis in a moving truck, 341 cannabis plants under cultivation, 7 rifles including 4 illegal assault rifles, 2 handguns and over 50 thousand dollars in cash. Detectives also discovered an electrical bypass being used to steal power for the illegal operation. The operation is believed to be tied to a similar operation uncovered recently on Commercial Way in Santa Cruz as well as a property on Browns Valley Road.
