Santa Cruz County residents can learn more about reducing flood risk on the Pajaro River at a meeting being held a 1 PM tomorrow (Friday) in Watsonville.
The Pajaro River Flood Risk Reduction Project is intended to prevent floods by rebuilding levees or adding new setback levees or floodwalls. At one time it was estimated to be a $200 million project but has been delayed for more than a decade.
Local Congressman Jimmy Panetta is expected to be at the Friday meeting along with other officials.
The Pajaro River Watershed Flood Prevention Authority Meeting will be held tomorrow at 1 PM in Watsonville’s Civic Center Community Room located at 275 Main St. on the 4th floor.
