Starting January 1st, California residents are required to have medical insurance….and they could face a penalty when they file their taxes if they do not have insurance. To have medical insurance through Covered California for 2020, people will need to apply by this Sunday (December 15th)….because the cut-off for enrollment is December 31st and it takes some time for the paperwork to get processed. The state has reportedly added some new subsidies that could help lower the cost of coverage for low and middle-income families.
