Salinas would like to join Monterey and Pacific Grove as communities with Trader Joe’s stores.
Monterey County Supervisor, Luis Alejo, is promoting Salinas for a new TJs and says commuters would also benefit.
Salinas Mayor, Joe Gunter, also supports bringing a Trader Joes to his city.
Alejo is proposing two possible locations shoud Trader Joe’s come to Salinas. They include the former K-Mart on North Davis Road and the former Orchard Supply Hardware across the street.
Monterey County and the City of Salinas say they plan to pitch the idea to Trader Joe’s headquarters in Southern California.
