The Monterey County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Monday to hire a new management company to operate the Laguna Seca raceway.
For 62 years, the non-profit Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) has managed the track. SCRAMP has been criticized for lax management practices, a ransomware incident, and other irregularities.
On Monday, to have a management group led by John Narigi take over the track with a contract through 2023.
