Santa Cruz police have arrested a 47-year-old woman after a two-and-a-half-hour standoff on the Water Street bridge Tuesday afternoon. Officers were called after the woman, who appeared to be living in a tent that had been erected on the bridge, three times threatened people with a long knife as they attempted to cross. Officers, along with negotiators, mental health professionals, and paramedics responded and were eventually allowed inside the tent. They then took the woman into custody. There were no injuries from the foot-long thin-bladed knife. The woman was charged with brandishing a knife, resisting, and delaying a police officer.
