Community members held an annual renovation block party in the Chiatown area of Salinas on Saturday. The event promotes new growth as well as helping the homeless find a way back into the community. The event featured live music as well as informational booths. Several of the volunteer staff had been former members of the homeless encampment. It was the 3rd year the event has been held.
