A Monterey County jury convicted a Salinas man on assault charges Friday. 33 year old Christen Jermaine Alfaro was found guilty of assaulting his wife during a domestic dispute in April. During the trial his wife recanted previous allegations of physical violence during the incident. Police body camera footage along with reports and other evidence convinced the jury, and Alfaro was sentenced to 60 days behind bars and three years on probation. He will also have to perform community service, spend 52 weeks in Batter’s Treatment classes and not own guns for ten years.
