The statewide annual quarantine on sport-harvested mussels will end tonight for all coastal counties….except Humboldt and Mendocino. The annual quarantine is intended to protect the public from shellfish poisoning that is caused by marine bio-toxins. These warnings do not apply to commercially sold clams, mussels and other bi-valves.
