A four story condo development across from the dream inn moves forward.
In a late night vote, the santa cruz city council approved the controversial project in a split vote but the project still needs the approval of the coastal commission.
Ten of the 89 future condos will be sold as affordable units. In addition to housing, the project also includes: a spa, gym, café, public plaza, two floors of underground parking, mini market and hotel administrative offices.
Almost 50-speakers spoke their opposition to the development on the corner of west cliff drive and bay avenue. Right now the land is used as a parking lot for the dream inn.
