In a meeting with the California Public Utilities Commission, PG&E CEO Bill Johnson discussed how long it could take before Public Safety Power Shutoffs will become a thing of the past.
Johnson stated that it could take approximately a decade before the utility will no longer have a need to shut off electricity when the risk of wildfires is at its peak.
Last week, over 2 million people were affected by the public safety power shutoffs due to the high winds throughout Northern California.
