If you’re looking for an environmentally friendly and cost-effective form of pest control, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter recommends barn owls.
Scientists estimate that one barn owl family can consume four-thousand rodents-a-year without the use of harmful chemicals.
To demonstrate how to attract barn owls, the shelter invites the community to attend an Owl Box Raising at the shelter facility.
The event will take place tomorrow (THU OCT 17TH) at 2 p.m. at the shelter. Located at Rodriguez St., in Santa Cruz.
