Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people in Live Oak last week. On Friday, deputies responded to reports of a disturbance at a coffee shop in Live Oak. A suspect later identified as Brent Wells had just fled the shop with stolen items. Moments later, nearby a resident confronted Wells and his girlfriend, Emily Nelson, who were stealing items from a car. Wells then brandished a knife at the citizen. Deputies arrived on the scene and arrested both subjects for numerous charges.
