On Tuesday, the Watsonville City Council unanimously approved the ordinance to ban flavored tobacco, electronic cigarettes, and tobacco-free pharmacies. Watsonville joins over a dozen jurisdictions to take similar steps in banning these products, including San Benito County, Santa Clara County, the City of San Francisco and the City of Sacramento, according to the American Lung Association.
The ban goes into effect on November 23rd. The ban is supported by the Watsonville Police Department, Pajaro Valley Prevention and Student Assistance, and other community organizations.
