The Salinas Police Department has announced funding approval for a special crimes victims support program. The funding comes in the form of a U.S. Department of Justice Grant. Monies for the grant are obtained from fines, penalty assessments and bond forfeitures of convicted federal criminal offenders instead of tax dollars. He grant totals 276 thousand dollars.
