A known gang member was sentenced to prison on Friday. In May a jury found Charles Gutierrez guilty of the murder of 22 year old Eliot Serna in 2015. Serna was visiting family, in Salinas from Mexico, when Gutierrez mistook him for a rival gang member and fatally shot him. Gutierrez was ordered to spend 50 years behind bars plus an additional 4 years for an altercation in the Monterey County Jail.
