Bunny owners beware!
An outbreak of the deadly Myxomatosis is hitting the local rabbit population. cases of the disease have been reported in Santa Cruz, Monterey and Santa Clara County. Symptoms include a fever, red and swollen eyelids, lips, ears and genitals. The rabbits will have trouble breathing if they get the virus. It’s highly contagious and vets are recommending bringing your bunny indoors to protect it from contracting the disease.
