THE BLOB IS BACK!
IT’S AN OCEAN PHENOMENON DESCRIBED AS A MARINE HEAT WAVE AND FIRST MADE AN APPEARANCE OFF THE PACIFIC COAST FIVE YEARS AGO. THURSDAY SCIENTISTS SAY THE BLOB IS BACK AND IS APPARENTLY CAUSING CHANGES IN WIND PATTERNS THAT ARE PUSHING TEMPERATURES TO RISE.
WATER TEMPERATURES OFF CALIFORNIA AND OTHER PARTS OF THE WEST COAST ARE AT LEAST 5 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT WARMER THAN NORMAL. RESEARCHERS SAY WARMER WATERS WILL HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON MARINE LIFE.
