- The Tucker Fire, that began about 6 miles southwest of Clear Lake Reservoir in Modoc County has burned more than 14,000 acres, making it the largest active fire in California right now….and the largest in the state so far this year. As of this morning, firefighters say they have it about 10 percent contained.
- The 316-acre Lake Fire, that broke out Monday, is burning near Lockwood in south Monterey county. It’s now considered 80 percent contained.
- Nacimiento-Ferguson Road was closed to through traffic yesterday…..as firefighters worked to contain the 120-acre Mill Fire, burning in the Big Sur area of south Monterey county. People there are also asked to avoid the intersection of Kirk Creek and Highway 1, so that firefighters can access the fireline from there.
