Although a shooter was shot and killed about a minute after he opened fire on the crowd at the Gilroy Garlic Festival this afternoon, a 2nd person of interest is being sought in connection with today’s killing of 3 people and the injury of at least 15 more at the annual event. As of 10:45 p.m. at least one helicopter was still
being used to search for that 2nd person of interest….

People who witnessed this afternoon’s shootings at the Gilroy Garlic Festival are encouraged to call (408) 846 – 0583. Witnesses say 1 shooter was shot and killed at the scene, and Gilroy Police officers say they are still searching for a 2nd shooter. At least 3 people were killed and at least a dozen more were injured in the shootings that began around 5:30 p.m…shortly before the 3-day festival was scheduled to end.
A re-unification center has been set up in parking lot B at Gavilan College.
