Local Senator Bill Monning has pulled his bill that would require warning labels on sugary drinks (if it passed through both houses, and was signed into law). Senator Monning pulled the bill because there wasn’t enough support for it this year. By not presenting the bill for a vote, the bill will remain dormant until next year, when it can be taken up again. Since it has already passed the state senate it will go dormant for the rest of this year, but will remain in the Assembly Health Committee.
