The Coast Guard initiated a search for a man swept out to sea from Monastery Beach near Carmel on Saturday afternoon. Initial reports say the man went into the surf to help a young boy who was later pulled from the water by lifeguards. The Coast Guard suspended the search Saturday night until Sunday morning. At this time the man remains missing.
