It comes as no surprise to locals who drive Highway One traffic on a daily basis.
According to “visit Santa Cruz” tourism hit a new record high: one billion dollars last year.
The organization says the increase comes from a number of popular tourist spots but the beach boardwalk was apparently a big contributor. Boardwalk officials say the amusement park brings in an estimated three million visitors a year.
