A 16 year old male from Freemont was killed by a wrong way driver on Highway 17 early Saturday. Authorities say that at about 2 a-m, a CHP officer spotted a wrong way driver near the summit. Before the officer could catch the vehicle it had collided head on with a car containing 5 teens, killing 1 and hospitalizing 3 others. The wrong way driver, 28 year old Ashley Marie Oliver, was treated for minor injuries, and taken into custody for suspected felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
