Santa Cruz County’s largest school district has taken a stand opposing charter schools.
The Pajaro Valley Unified School District board earlier this week voted unanimously for a resolution that backs a statewide moratorium on new charter schools and a package of proposed charter-restricting laws.
The district will also look into how local charter schools impact district finances and how student demographics differ between charters and district schools.
