The Santa Cruz City Council is working through its anticipated $3.2 million general fund deficit in the 2020 fiscal year. At the conclusion of a Wednesday meeting, the gap was closed to about $1.5 million after councilmembers cut some programs while adding money back into the budget proposal.
The city hopes to have a budget approved by its meeting on June 11th.
