Cyclist Gets a Bike 05-06-19 05:10 DC

A cross-country cyclist whose $5,000 titanium bike was stolen last week in Santa Cruz got new wheels yesterday. Cyclist Larry Ring said the theft occurred at Santa Cruz Diner and came after nearly 10 months spent cycling from his New Jersey home to Santa Cruz.

Ring’s story was heard by Kevin Alexander, a local retired cyclist, who can no longer ride because of health issues. Alexander has given Ring a racing bike he built himself and rode for three decades. Ring says he is grateful for the donated bike.
