As part of a Safe Streets Demonstration, a Seaside crosswalk has been colorfully painted as a way to make it stand out. Until may 13th, the yellow and orange crosswalk (with a curb extension in purple) is on Broadway Avenue between Yosemite and Mescal, in front of the Martin Luther King Junior School Of The Arts. A similar temporary crosswalk will be put in place in marina from May 14-28 on Carmel Avenue between Nicklas Lane and Lynscott Drive. The demonstrations are being held around the country to help cities decide if some of the projects should be permanently installed.
