Martin’s Beach isn’t the only California beach that people are trying to get opened (or re-opened) to the public. Locally, first there was Private’s Beach in the opal cliffs area….and now a group is trying to get the former Red, White And Blue Beach re-opened to the public again; but there’s a possible glitch because the owners of the 175-acres of ranchland, that straddles Highway 1 north of Santa Cruz (and provides the most direct access to the beach) are “in contract” with a potential buyer.
