The city of San Jose is believed to be the first city in the nation to devote 45-percent of it’s affordable housing funding to extremely low income residents.
An estimated 40-thousand families in San Jose qualify for extremely low income housing… but there are only 3-thousand units available.
San Jose has a goal of adding 10-thousand affordable homes by 20-23.
