Heads up highway 17 commuters! A major Caltrans project starts Monday on your favorite mountain highway. The good news is… the work will be overnight. On the downside… the shoulder widening and wall installation won’t be complete until next summer, if all goes according to schedule.
The five million dollar construction project includes half a mile of southbound 17, north of the intersection of 17 and hwy one… and just south of Pasatiempo.
The roadwork takes place Monday thru Friday and Caltrans says motorists will endure delays of up to 15-minutes and the electronic message boards will alert drivers to the “cone zone”
