The type of Killer Whales, that have been spotted recently in the Monterey Bay, rarely come to this area…in fact it’s only the 4th time in recorded history that the endangered species has been reported in the Monterey Bay Area. Southern Resident Killer Whales tend to be found in the waters off the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. The last time they were sighted here was 8 years ago. Only 73 Southern Resident Killer Whales are believed to exist in the world.
