Federal judge Wlliam Alup is cracking down on PG&E
The judge ruled yesterday the embattled utility company must comply with wildfire prevention rules and it’s own plans to combat wildfires in the golden state.
Judge Alup said quote:
“it’s quite clear that pg& e over several years allowed the trees to grow out and not be removed as they should have been,”
He added that PG&E is concerned with paying shareholders rather than attending to public safety.
The judge wrote in prior court hearings he might order p-g & e to a full inspection of its electricity grid and do a complete vegetation and management plan before the 20-19 wildfire season hits. P-g & e claimed customer rates could increase five fold under that plan.
