In March of 2019, Monterey Peninsula law enforcement agencies observed an increase in vehicle thefts. The following agencies reported vehicle thefts in that month: Marina Police Department reported 7 vehicle thefts. The Seaside Police Department reported 9 vehicle thefts. The Monterey Police Department reported 6 vehicle thefts. The Pacific Grove Police Department reported 2 vehicle thefts, and the Carmel Police Department reported 1 vehicle theft.
