A robbery suspect is behind bars this morning, accused of trying to rip off a shell gas station on water street in Santa Cruz.
A security cam caught Nolan West on camera as he pulled a gun on the clerk last month.
But the astute clerk recognized the firearm was a b-b gun, he sprayed west with pepper spray. West jumped on his bike and rode away.
He is charged with robbery, resisting arrest, probation violation, and outstanding warrants for burglary and a narcotic violation.
