The Soquel Creek Water District appears likely to split the proposed Pure Water Soquel treatment plant across two sites. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that one part of the project would be built at Chanticleer Avenue and Soquel Avenue in Live Oak. The other plant would be constructed at the City of Santa Cruz water plant on California Ave.
The decision does not appear final and the water district faces local opposition in Live Oak and accusations that the process lacks transparency.
