A portion of Highway 17 was closed for an hour overnight due to snow. More snow flurries are expected today in areas above 1-thousand feet, and a winter weather advisory has been issued for central coast mountains. Snow accumulations are expected in the Santa Lucia Mountains above Big Sur, and in the Southern Gabilan Range through this afternoon. The National Weather Service estimates 4-8 inches of snow above 1500 feet….and 10-15 inches above 4,000 feet. Hazardous driving conditions can be expected to continue on Highways 35, 9, 17, 29, as well as other mountain roads and passes.
