In Oregon… motorists are lining up at the DMV to get the new whale license plates. Money from the plates will fund research at Oregon State University.
Local biologists say that research will also benefit the grey whales swimming thru the Monterey Bay. California has had a whale license plate since 1997 and so far has raised 29-million dollars for the California Coastal Commission.
